The Scholarship Fund was founded in 2005 by the Embraer Institute for Education and Research. Its objective is to help covering the costs of dwelling, nutrition, transport, among others, of alumni of the Eng. Juarez Wanderley School, who are studying at universities located outside the area of São José dos Campos. The scholarship is only conceded to students with excellent academic performance, being entitled to government scholarships (PROUNI) at public or private universities (PROUNI) and facing financial difficulties which make it impossible for them to continue studying.
How it works
The Scholarship Fund receives donations both from natural and from artificial persons. Alumni of the Eng. Juarez Wanderley School, after graduating from university, are expected to contribute to the fund and pay back the inflation-corrected amount received.
In 2009, the Fund offers scholarships to 320 students, who receive R$ 490.00 a month. Embraer is the biggest contributor to the Fund, accounting for 25% of the total amount necessary to cover the scholarships.
Adding these contributions to the donations so far received from partners, clients, friends of the School and Embraer staff, the fund has sufficient resources for 192 scholarships, which means that still contributions for another 128 scholarships are necessary!
How to contribute to the Fund
Any person interested can contribute with any amount of money, be it a single contribution (Single Donation) or a monthly contribution over a predetermined period of time (Monthly Donation).
Single Donation
In this case, the donator shall make a bank deposit in one of the current accounts of the Embraer Institute, specifically opened for this purpose. Current accounts have been opened at each one of the banks located at Embraer’s premises in order to avoid, for staff, costs with bank transfers. See below the account numbers:
